Step 1: Download KB917607 and extract the files manually

Note that WinDiff is still being used today by many users. By default, Windows 10/11 have the file Winhlp32.exe in the Windows directory, but it’s only a 12 KB dummy or placeholder file that doesn’t do anything when run. For example, I needed to refer to WinDiff.hlp manual to know the command-line switches supported. Get Winhlp32.exe (.hlp) functionality in Windows 10 or 11 Method 2: Without replacing the default Winhlp32.exe file.Method 1: Replace the default Winhlp32.exe with the legacy version.Step 2: Copy the files to the Windows folder.Step 1: Download Winhlp32 package from Microsoft.Locate and right-click the desired folder, then select Send to Desktop (create shortcut).Also note that copying a shortcut onto a flash drive will not work if you want to bring a file with you, you'll need to navigate to the actual location of the file and copy it to the flash drive. Instead of navigating to the file or folder each time you want to use it, you can simply double-click the shortcut to open it. If you have a file or folder you use frequently, you can save time by creating a shortcut on the desktop.
